Floating Power Platform

Made in Sweden

LCOE towards 2018 below €129/MWh Potentially <100€/MWh, by 2030. (UK/ETI)

Completed:

  • Front End
  • Engineering Design (FEED)
  • Wind tunnel testing
  • Wave tank testing x 2
  • ABS Design Basis Verification
  • Nominated Wind Turbine Supplier
  • Nominated Platform Manufacturer

In Progress:

  • Undergoing Detailed Engineering
  • Finalizing steel order
  • Finalizing sub-suppliers contracts
  • Finalizing Grid Connection
  • Awaiting final Seabed lease (4Q16)
  • Awaiting final Consent (1Q17)

Note: significant engineering based on more detailed input needs to be undertaken to determine the final configuration and structural weight. Numbers presented are to be seen as indicative. Furthermore, Hexicon does not have insight into competitors’ technology development nor results thereof.

Assuming WTGs of 10 MW with rotor diameter of 180 m WTG spacing can be reduced after proof of concept and further development of active heading control.  There is nothing indicating that Hexicon should not be competitive hosting very large WTGs (note however that the most efficient projects may not necessarily be developed using the largest available machines, any given project will need work identifying the optimum WTG size)
